Rubber Gate Valve
Gate valves can be used as current stopper in completely closed state. These valves create a relatively lower chaos compared to other valves when opened and also the pressure decrease is not noticeable. Among applications of gate valves one can mention watering and industrial facilities including drinking water – raw water – sewage – and non-corrosive liquids of up to 70 degrees Celsius.

Guidelines on transport and storage – installation and assembly and maintenance of Abresaan Tolou Mehr Company’s Rubber Gate Valve
- To store rubber gate valve in warehouse the rubber sealing flap must be completely open.
- To keep the color of the valves and the paraffin on the screws constant and to increase the life span of the elastic parts do not ever leave the valves under direct sunlight.
- Be careful not to harm the coating during transfer and movement since it causes rust and corrosion.
- Do not throw the valves while unloading from a truck since it causes damage to the shaft and the coating.
Note: the rubber gate valves are designed for connecting and disconnecting the liquid current so it must not be used to control the flow rate under any circumstance.
Installation and Assembly and Maintenance
- Connect the flanges to the pipe by welding (the flange holes must e facing each other).
- Thoroughly clean the flange surfaces, inside the pipe and the welding location using wire brush and cleaning solution.
- Degrease the valve flange sealing surface and related rubber gaskets thoroughly.
- Abresan Tolou Mehr rubber gate valves are sealed on two sides and the flow direction of the network does not affect the valve’s operation.
- The liquid pressure must be freed before disconnecting valves from the network.
- To increase life span and better operation of the rubber gate valves, the use of suitable strainer before the valve is recommended.
- Abresan Tolou Mehr rubber gate valves that open with a gate valve are designed such that they are easily opened and closed manually so avoid using foreign force (lever) since it leads to destruction of the valve’s components and sealing,
- When using detriment valves, cover the surroundings with sieved sand.
- Avoid inflicting the valve during installation.
- If the condition of the passing liquid through the valve is such that there is too much dregs it is recommended that the valve be opened and closed according to dregs’ severity (once every three months) and the inside of the valve be cleaned and descaled annually.
- In case gate valves are required for liquids such as oil, acid and … be sure to state the type of liquid at the time of order.
